1967 Camaro Restoration Project
Page Twenty Six

Three years, two months, and one week down the project road and the Camaro has come back to me to take care of a few small details and work the bugs out of it.

I got a video of the car backing off the trailer. I just had to turn a tire with it.

Video of Camaro coming home.

I had the car outside yesterday so I could use the lift and Jodie made the awsome music video. Watch the reflections in the panels as she went around the car.

Video of the shiny paint job.

Back in the garage. It won't be long now.
Hey Joe,,, you better get that garage cleaned out !!!

Needed to check the final wheel alignment. It was off just a little bit.
Wow,, look at the checkerboard reflection in the paint of the wall in my garage.

While I had the car on the alignment lift, I decided to raise it up and take a few pics of the super clean underside of the car. Most people don't own car lifts at their home but having two lifts here, it allows me to raise a car high enough to walk underneath it either inside, or outside.

I'm going to keep the car on the old side of my garage for a bit. It's kinda like having it in your recreation room at home. This way I can work on it from time to time and get some of the bugs figured out, mostly during comericals watching football. LOL

Starting to work the bugs out a couple at a time. The more I look, the more I find. I kinda expected it, all part of the project. I made a list and am checking things twice. When the list is cleared out, this car is going to be super nice. LOL

One of the bugs was not so small. For some reason when on a test drive, the transmission would not shift into 2nd gear. Since a Powerglide trans only has two gears, this is a major problem. After checking and rechecking all kinds of external things it was determined to be an internal transmission problem so the trans has to come back out. NOT something I was looking forward to.

It sucks having to undo all this work that's allready been done.

After a solid session, the trans is out and headed to a different person to go through. I hope to get it back soon, the weather is turning nice and I'm eager to put some miles on this project and then turn it back over and conclude this project.

Just got the transmission back this evening. Now comes the fun job of installing it back in the car. Dude said there was a gasket out of place, it had a check ball in the wrong spot, and there was a sticking valve. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I got the trans back in and after some tweaking and a visit to a friends shop we now have a seconed gear. What a big difference it makes. Still some more bugs to work out but at least now I can start driving it.
